27 Years of Century Ballroom
A note from Hallie, Owner of Century Ballroom & The Tin Table:
Century Ballroom is turning 27 on March 1st, and The Tin Table will be 15.
Unlike many owners/event throwers, we have no grand plans for a party this year, AVS will be in Century and Bachata will be in West Hall, BUT what we do have planned is the unveiling of The Tin Table redux (more on that below).
We will have our annual slide show playing in Century all weekend, where you can see yourself, or friends, as a reminder to all of us what a wide range of things have happened within these walls.
And for fun, Alison and I will be behind the bar in Century for a couple hours on Saturday night, just like in the beginning (although the bar was just a 6’ table at that time). Come order a drink and see what you get!
Onto The Tin Table redux:
After COVID, the staff, instructors and DJs, worked tirelessly to get the ball rolling again and, in my opinion, were successful!
But it still felt like we were missing something, and that something was being with our community, hanging out in The Tin Table, with food and drink and conversation, as we started or ended our evening of dancing. Or just because it was a great environment to bring friends who didn’t dance, just to wine and dine.
Our mission for Century has not changed, to dine dance & romance in beautiful rooms which invite you in for the first or thousandth time.
What we are doing is refocusing The Tin Table to align more with the words so often associated with us: hidden gem, speakeasy, great cocktails, hideaway, donkey & giraffe…
Our focus will continue to be on our craft cocktails. Our food menu will offer more small bites (while keeping everyone’s favorite burger), but the main change is the space. We’ve added sofas, bistro tables, hiboys, repainted, and changed the lighting; all to create the warm and cozy space you, me and our friends want to hang out in, whether dancing or not.
I hope you’ll pop on Saturday 3/2 to see the redux (still in process of course), and to say hi. If you can’t, thank you for being a part of Century and The Tin Table at any point over the last 27 years, you’ve made us what we are today.
–Hallie, Alison and all the staff, instructors, and DJs
