Lindy Hop, meet your cousin West Coast Swing.
These two dances have a clear lineage that binds them. With jazz roots origins, both dances celebrate improvisation and musicality through partnership while utilizing the stretch and release of tension found throughout jazz music.
The 90-minute mini workshop will help students explore what’s similar and what’s different in these two related styles. It’s our goal that students will gain an appreciation for the relationship between original dance forms and what they have evolved into over the past century. The workshop is for anyone that already knows the basics of either Lindy or WCS.
