Elise is a queer dancer who is passionate about supporting other queer dancers to access partner dance in queer spaces where consent culture is paramount and gender-binaries are broken down and irrelevant. Elise believes that centering these values allows dancers to focus on safe connection, creative expression, and fun with community. Elise believes that sharing physical space and access to one’s body through dance is a privilege and that it should be treated as such. They have danced various genres of partner dance since 2008, with their first loves being Salsa and Bachata. They have danced and competed in West Coast Swing, and various Ballroom dances including Waltz,Tango, FoxTrot, Samba, Cha Cha, and Rumba. Elise has also been an assistant teacher with Queerchata. Elise loves learning new dances and finding new ways to channel their creativity through movement, and believes that dance is healing and grounding.
